May23rd - June 1st: Training

When we arrived in Brasselton, GA (where the headquarters are located) we were given this schedule along with a booklet introducing us to the summer. Everyday is long and planned out for you. Everything we got trained on hopefully gives a better understanding of what an operations intern does.

Monday May 23^rd:

• 9-11:30am- AJGA Welcome Orientation
• 11:30-Noon- Mark Address
• Noon-1p.m- Welcome by CEO and Lunch
• 1-3pm- Golf 101 and intro to course marking, Ops development, Thor and Repeater
• 4-7pm- Ops Equipment Station
• 7-8pm- Dinner and Social Activity

Tuesday May 24th:

• 7:30-9am Intro to Vehicles
• 9-11am Driving School
• 11am-Noon Uniform distribution and Lunch (getting 6 days worth of polo gear, under armor shoes and sundog sunglasses, and 2 hats!!)
• Noon- 2:30pm- Rules of Golf, Course Rulings, Radio Ettiquette
• 2:30-4pm- Get crackin' Pace of Play Policy
• 4-5:45pm Weather delays, Code of Conduct, Practice Round Pace of Play
• 5:45-7:30pm Equipment Stations
• 7:30pm Dinner

Wednesday May 25th:

• 7:15-11am Advanced Course Marking
• Noon-7:30pm Driving School
• 7:30pm Dinner

Thursday May 26th:

• 7:30-11:45 Hole locations, Junior Am Prep, Additional Ops training
• Noon-1pm Lunch
• 1-5:30pm Starting, Scoring, Setting Tees, Checking Hole Locations
• 6:30pm Dinner

Friday May 27th

• 7:30am Staff Photo
• 8am-Noon Tent Games
• Noon-1pm Lunch
• 1:15-6pm Tournament Set-up and Prep
• 6pm Dinner

....We got to actually run a tournament at

head quarters with everyone, it was crazy b

ecause there was 48 interns and all the full time staff there but it gave everyone a good idea of what tournament days felt like

Sunday May 28th (practice round of the tournament)

• 7-9:30am Morning Assignments for Tournament Set-up
• 9:30-11am Rules refreshing, Player Timing and Pace of Play Activity
• 11-Noon Cross Awareness (getting taught comms duties)
• Noon-1pm Lunch
• 1-4:30pm On-Course stations, Practice Round Get Crackin' Pace of Play Cops, Rules, Radio Usage, and Course Marking
• 4:30-5pm Stuffing Party (stuff registrati on bags)
• 5-5:30pm Registration Set up
• 7pm Registration and Players Meeting

Sunday May 29th:

• 6am Morning Assignm ents
• 7:30-12:40 First Round off No. 1 Tee
• 4-6pm Tournament Cookout
